June 2007
MINISTERS’ CORNER
It is the middle of this year already. May was Mother’s Day. This month
we celebrate father on his day, Sunday the 17th. Father goes to work
and earns a living wage for us to live on. Many dads come home and help Mom
with the children and home. He loves his children every bit as much as mom.
Spring is here and June says enjoy going into summer. June is the month when
wild flowers bloom in the desert. The desert has come out of sleeping all
winter with June. It is spring every one. Do come outside more often and smell
the fresh air, feel the warmth of the sun this month. June is the month all
animals come out of hibernation. So come on everyone and enjoy the outside. God
has and is so very good to us. Thank Him for all your blessings. Enjoy June
with God. Love, Rev. Marie
Reverend Marie White
Summer is arriving and things at the Center are great. We now have advertising with the free “Coffee News” in Puyallup, Sumner and the South Hill of Puyallup. I deliver the News to the downtown area for free advertising. The paper comes out once a week. Thank you, God. We hope this will help with new people coming into the Center. Last month, Rev. Kay and I went to the Tri-cities for a three-day conference. We met a lot of beautiful people and shared out spiritual message with others. A special thank you to all the fathers on Father’s Day. I know that each year I get older, I appreciate my fathers for all their wisdom. The board meetings will resume in September, however, it will be church as usual every Sunday at 11 am. Rev. Kay and I will be gone to a family reunion from June 14 to the 21st. Come and support Jeff as he leads the service again. A special thank you to all who sent in your love donations for this newsletter ministry. We appreciate all your support especially since postage went up. So we let go and let God and all things work out for the best. Spiritual wisdom: In all circumstances, I turn to Spirit for wisdom, guidance and strength. I know that when I love from the heart- not from words or speech, it will show in my truth and actions. With a thankful heart, I will become the good that God has already prepared for me. If I do well, I collect treasures that God has given me and share them with you. I then grow in wisdom and prosperity. I know that you cannot out-give God, but what a joy it is to try. Love in service, Rev. Ken
June is finally
here! That is what I hear from the children in school. Vacation time is here!
We are celebrating Father’s Day June 17th. Flag Day is the 14th. I know we will be flying our
flag. Thank you to Mr. Jeff Spirey for his message on May 6 and for leading the
service while Rev. Ken and I were out of town.
I pray the war will end and our soldiers can be brought home. I pray for
peace throughout the world. I pray that the love of God be manifested in this
world and in the hearts of our own government leaders. The Lord says, “I am the
Way the Truth and the Light.” Let us strive to be Christ like in our dealings
with each other and in our own lives. I pray that the summer is wonderful for
all of you and as you enjoy God’s world, pause and give Him thanks for all your
blessings. Love, Rev. Kay

What Makes a Dad?
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad

The
Flag Goes By
Henry Holcomb Bennett
Hats off!
Along the street there comes
A blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums,
A flash of color beneath the sky:
Hats off!
The flag is passing by!
Blue and crimson and white it shines,
Over the steel-tipped, ordered lines.
Hats off!
The colors before us fly;
But more than the flag is passing by.
Sea-fights and land-fights, grim and great,
Fought to make and to save the State:
Weary marches and sinking ships;
Cheers of victory on dying lips;
Days of plenty and years of peace;
March of a strong land's swift increase;
Equal justice, right, and law,
Stately honor and reverend awe;
Sign of a nation, great and strong
Toward her people from foreign wrong:
Pride and glory and honor, --all
Live in the colours to stand or fall.
Hats off!
Along the street there comes
A blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums;
And loyal hearts are beating high:
Hats off!
The Flag is passing by!
