MINISTERS CORNER

 A Merry Christmas to everyone!

Just a note from the Ministers Corner: the life I now live is a good life. It is a spiritual process, not a state of material being. It is a direction that connects me to a spiritual life  - not just a destination. I know that I do not have to “arrive” to be happy. Last month was a good month for the Center. We were able to help people in the community. We collected the food for the thanksgiving basket and are continuing to get ready for the Christmas baskets. The children of the Center are doing the Christmas program and Rev. Kay will be doing the Burning Bowl Ceremony on the 30th of December. The church thanks those who sent love offerings to support our ministry. Please send any prayer requests or special needs to us by mail or e-mail. Let us do our jobs, which is to pray for you. We are looking forward to new ideas in the New Year.  The best motto this year was “You can’t out give God” Spiritual insight: Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet. Once I accept things in this world as they are, I can co-create with God as they might be. When winter comes, Spring can’t be far away. I know that those of us with a healthy attitude and loving support may endure profound distress, go on to heal and perhaps even gain precious wisdom as a result of the experience. Like seasonal changes, this is a passing from a material death to a new spiritual way of living. Our hope for all of our readers is that you will be blessed this holiday and you continue to pay for our Center’s success. Know that you are loved and we need you in our lives.  Love in service, Rev. Ken

Rev. Ken Leppell

Merry Christmas to everyone! This holiday season is amazing. Thanksgiving was filled with love, friends and family. I just know that the Lord is blessing us all the time. No matter what goes on in our lives, if we look for the good in all situations, we will find that God is always there for us. The children are planning the Christmas program. I get such pleasure watching the talents and seeing the imagination of young people. There will be singing and instrumentals, since they are in charge; I know it will be fun. I will be conducting the Burning Bowl Ceremony December 30th. Join us for this wonderful exercise of cleansing, letting go and renewal. This occurs during the regular 11:00 am services. I thank God for the Greatest Gift of all, His Son, Jesus Christ. Thank Him regularly for the blessings Christ gave us. All children need to learn that the greatest gift of all is Love  - the Love of God. Let us remember to share that love with others this year – every day of every year. Love one another and let it spread from person to person, country to country throughout the world. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. Prayer in action is love. Have a blessed holiday season, and whatever religion you follow, whatever holiday you celebrate, let’s celebrate with Love. Love in God’s service, Rev. Kay

DECEMBER BIBLE READING

8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."  13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

POETRY CORNER

Neighbors of the Christ Night

Deep in the shelter of the cave,
The ass with drooping head
Stood weary in the shadow, where
His master's hand had led.
About the manger oxen lay,
Bending a wide-eyed gaze
Upon the little new-born Babe,
Half worship, half amaze.
High in the roof the doves were set,
And cooed there, soft and mild,
Yet not so sweet as, in the hay,
The Mother to her Child.
The gentle cows breathed fragrant breath
To keep Babe Jesus warm,
While loud and clear, o'er hill and dale,
The cocks crowed, "Christ is born!"
Out in the fields, beneath the stars,
The young lambs sleeping lay,
And dreamed that in the manger slept
Another small as they.

These were Thy neighbors, Christmas Child;
To Thee their love was given,
For in Thy baby face there shone
The wonder-light of Heaven.
