MINISTERS CORNER

A Happy New Year to all! Just think – If it is as it has been this last year we will certainly be grateful. Our health has been great and the church is growing. We pray that all is well in your household. Thank you to those of you who sent love offerings to support this newsletter. Last month, we increased our food baskets from three Christmas baskets to five baskets. Thanks to all of you who participated in the “Fill the Bags” campaign. Thank you to Rachel Denney and the children for such a wonderful performance at Christmas. We had 7 baptisms on the 23rd of December. On the 29th, I officiated at a wedding. On the 30th of December, Rev. Kay led the Burning Bowl Ceremony. What a great way to start the New Year! I thank all the Church angels who have worked so hard setting up the church and putting it away after services every Sunday. I also thank those kitchen angels for their help on breakfast Sunday and also after services on Sunday. The prayer list is still open. Let us know what your needs are. James 5:16 says Pray for one another so that you may be healed, the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. I know that when I praise Him in prayer and sing in celebration of You, I affirm that we are one with the healing power of God. We become whole in mind body, and spirit. As we give to one another from out God-given talents and abilities, we unite to create even greater harmony. So my gift to you this New Year is “Let’s open our hearts and minds to God by expressing the wisdom and strength given to us by Him and know that our dreams and prosperity really will come to fruition. Love in service, Rev. Ken

Happy New Year! Thank you; Lord, for all the blessings in 2007. We had a blessing in December to report. All of our prayers about a musician to play for Sunday services have been answered. Marion Curtis stepped up and said that she would love to play for the church. Thank you Lord! You are so faithful to us. Marion is a blessing to all of us. We appreciate her more than words can say. We are looking forward to more growth in the church. Rev. Ken and I were blessed to baptize our daughter’s entire family, Ron and Rachel Denney and the children, Andrew, Kenny, Kayla, and Amanda. I was also blessed to baptize Michael Peterson. What joy to have seven souls accept Jesus Christ as their Savior! Christmas services were wonderful. Kenny, Kayla, Amanda and Rachel sang for us. Andrew accompanied them on the keyboard. Kenny did a French horn solo of What Child is This? Thanks to all who participated in the Burning Bowl ceremony. We provided five Christmas food baskets to members of the community. Now we go forward to spread the Love of God during this coming year. May you receive the good that the Lord has for you in every area and aspect of your lives. God bless you always. Love in God’s service, Rev. Kay

POETRY CORNER

New Year Prayer

God grant us this year a wider view,
So we see others' faults through the eyes of You.
Teach us to judge not with hasty tongue,
Neither the adult ... nor the young.

Give us patience and grace to endure
And a stronger faith so we feel secure.
Instead of remembering, help us forget
The irritations that caused us to fret.

Freely forgiving for some offense
And finding each day a rich recompense.
In offering a friendly, helping hand
And trying in all ways to understand;

That all of us whoever we are ...
Are trying to reach an unreachable star.
For the great and small ... the good and bad,
The young and old ... the sad and glad

Are asking today; Is life worth living?
The answer is only in, loving and giving.
For only Love can make man kind
And Kindness of Heart brings Peace of Mind.

By giving love, we can start this year
To lift the clouds of hate and fear.
