MINISTERS CORNER

A very happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Easter! The Center’s flower garden sets the stage this month. We are looking forward to warmer weather. Things are going well at the Center. The children are now taking a very active part in the church services, playing music and sharing at the time of testimony. They help setting up and putting things away after the services. The Board members voted to continue our “Fill the Bags” year round. We will collect canned goods and personal items and paper products, if they are not distributed within a month, we will give them to the local food bank. We are going to purchase Bibles for the new members and children who do not have one. Easter is a time for renewing our faith, not only in God, but also in each other. It gives me an opportunity to look at my relationships and time to renew. When I come to the realization that God is my only strength, my cup runneth over. I shall not want. For all good is mine now. John 8:12 says, “I am the light of the world, he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the Light of Life.” I know in His presence, I walk hand in hand with Truth. The principles of the Creator dwells in me and sustains me in all my undertakings. My affirmation is: I know when I focus on the God qualities in me I can see only a perfect pattern, as I manifest perfect health. Once more I thank all of you who send support to the Center, whether material or spiritual. This is our lifeline to you and to this newsletter. Today I strive to become Christ like in consciousness. It is a new way of life for me. I do this by sharing with others, the gifts of love, joy, praise and gladness. Know that we are all one with God the Father, His son Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Happy Easter! Easter Sunday is March 23 rd this year. As I reflect on the Easter messages I have heard, I recognize the same theme, which is how much our Father/Almighty God loves us. I cannot fathom the sacrifice of Christ Jesus. Emmanuel means God among us. He came to walk in this world with us. I remember the words Christ prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Let this cup pass from me. Your will not mine be done.” And He sweated blood. This is not the joy of Easter. This is the agony of Christ as He faced His death. The JOY of His triumph over death, for us, is what His resurrection stands for. The empty cross represents our salvation. The Easter Bunnies are cute and the eggs and candy are fun, but let us always remember the true meaning of Easter and the great love the Lord has for us. I thank God for His immeasurable mercy and love. To be selfless in our daily life, giving of ourselves, caring for others, doing what the Bible says about caring for the needy, widows and those sick or in distress will teach us how to live a Christ-like life. We will draw closer to God, and find that talking with Him (praying and listening) will fill any void in our lives that we may think we have. Thanks to our new board members for their support of this church and it’s people. I would like to say Happy Birthday to March celebrants: Gerald Cozad, Andrew Phillips, Rachel Denney and everyone that I did not remember. Love in God’s service, Rev. Kay

POETRY CORNER

THE TOUCH OF THE MASTER'S HAND

"‘Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer

Thought it scarcely worth his while

To waste much time on the old violin,

But he held it up with a smile.

"What am I bidden, good folks," he cried,

"Who'll start bidding for me?

A dollar, a dollar - now who’ll make it two _

Two dollars and who’ll make it three?

"Three dollars once, three dollars twice,

Going for three". . . but no!

From the room far back a gray-haired man

Came forward and picked up the bow;

Then wiping the dust from the old violin,

And tightening up the strings,

He played a melody, pure and sweet,

As sweet as a caroling angel sings.

The music ceased and the auctioneer

With a voice that was quiet and low,

Said: "What am I bidden for the old violin?"

And he held it up with the bow,

"A thousand dollars - and who'll make it two?

Two thousand - and who'll make it three?

Three thousand once, three thousand twice

And going - and gone," said he.

The people cheered, but some of them cried,

"We do not quite understand -

What changed its worth?" Swift came the reply:

"The touch of the masters hand."

And many a man with life out of tune,

And battered and scarred with sin,

Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd.

Much like the old violin.

A "mess of pottage," a glass of wine,

A game and he travels on,

He's going once, and going twice -

He's going - and almost gone!

But the MASTER comes, and the foolish crowd,

Never can quite understand,

The worth of a soul, and the change that's wrought

By the touch of the MASTER'S hand.
