MINISTERS CORNER

Revs. Ken and Kay
Leppell
A
very Merry Christmas to you all! We had a very Happy Thanksgiving. Our house
was open and we had lots of guests. Everyone had a great time! How soon the
holidays got here this year. Soon it will be 2009. The good that the Center has
done and how wonderful it is that our new people are getting involved is
exciting. The young people are presenting a play for Christmas services. Our
very own “Marian Berry Pie” Curtis will be directing with Rachel Denney’s
assistance. See you there! Spiritual note: Did you know that with a true
friend, you can laugh, cry, be silly, get serious and reveal whatever is on
your heart. That is why I treasure all
of my friends. I am grateful for the joy and stability we bring to one another
as we share our mutual love and respect. I know that friendship is a sacred
bond and it provides a safe haven in which we can listen, share and be in
complete trust with each other. Real friends are caring people who can see each
other shortcomings and strengths and help one another work on both. They are
examples of God’s love in action. With friends, we can receive love through our
oneness and of course through prayer. God’s love moves from our very core
throughout our being. Love of each other invites us to accept ourselves just
the way we are. Know that all of you
are special and this minister wishes you the best of holidays and the New Year.
Your servant, Rev. Ken
Merry Christmas, every one! First, I want to thank the young people who did such a wonderful job on Youth Sunday. Chris Leppell, 17, gave the lecture and did all the things that go with the position- including the Lord’s Supper. Ken Feller Jr., 15, did the job of MC. He welcomed everyone and kept the order of worship flowing. Andrew Phillips, 17, played all of the music for us. Sara Moore 16, lead the healing meditation. Bliss Aron, 10 sang “It Took A Miracle”. Sarah Denney 10, and Amanda Denney, 9, served the elements in the Lord’s Supper. Kayla Feller, 13, collected the love offering. What a wonderful gift these young people gave the congregation – they each gave of themselves– for us. Great service- Thank you all. I am filled with gratitude for the love and prayers of this church. We have a strong belief in prayer and have seen the miracles of answered prayer. If you are in a time of sorrow at this time of year, you are not alone. Reach out to your friends and family and ask God to guide you this year. Come talk to one of our ministers or call us. Our numbers are listed in this paper. We are having our annual food drive. We are collecting non- perishables and the church will be giving the food to needy families this coming holiday season. If you can share some with us, thank you in advance. Just know that you are never alone, reach out to God and tell God your situation. Ask Him to help. He will! He always answers prayer. God bless you this holiday. You are in charge of the memories you choose to make. Make Them Great!
Love in God’s service, Rev. Kay

POETRY CORNER
Wonderous Night
Helen Parker
In the silence of that wondrous night
A star was shining extremely bright.
An angel appeared bringing tidings of joy
For soon would be born a baby boy.
So Shepherds and wise men followed the star
And others came from miles afar.
What child is this whom all await
His birth of which we celebrate?
He who was born in Bethlehem town
A King of Kings without a crown.
Who chose to be born in this humble way
In a stable so bare on Christmas day.
