MINISTERS CORNER

Revs. Ken and Kay
Leppell
A
very Happy New Year! Thank you; Lord, for all the good things that happened in
2008. We are so proud of the people of the Center and all of the help and
support from everyone. As I always share that everything is by Divine Order. We
can make plans with our Creator – just don’t plan the outcome. Thanks for
everyone who supports this monthly newsletter. Without your love gifts, we
could not be able to have the monthly paper. As I write this letter, we are
almost snowbound. There is more snow here than I have experienced in forty
years. We even had to cancel church last Sunday due to the storm. As we go into
the New Year, I am keeping my eyes and prayers on the new. I welcome and
participate in new opportunities for good. This makes it easy to accept the
need and welcome the results. The time spent towards new thoughts and ways of
doing are perfect opportunities to trust God. This gives me the motivation to
move forward, drawing on the spiritual resources I need. I enter in the new
with a New Year. My heart is open to the wisdom of Spirit to guide me. I know
this knowledge and when we unite the same hope or thought, the Grace of God
enters in and it comes forth. Proverbs 19:20 says, “Listen to advice and accept
instruction that you may gain wisdom for the future” Thank you for all your
prayers this last year. You have made all our goals come to fruition.
Your
servant, Rev. Ken
Happy New Year everyone! What an amazing Christmas! I can’t remember the last time we had so much snow for so long. We had to cancel the Christmas play and church because of it. The people who volunteered so much of their time will be honored Dec. 28th during services. These people who do the volunteering, give so much to the operation of this church and the newsletter. They do it with love for God and each one of us. I thank each and every person who volunteers, not only for our church, but also for the many causes, churches and organizations all over the world. One person at a time, are making a difference in the lives of others. Thank you to everyone who gave the gift of food for the families in need. I am looking forward to January 4th, 2009. It is time for the Burning Bowl Ceremony, clearing the old out of our lives and making room for the good this coming year. For those of you who come regularly to the Center, you know the great feeling that this ceremony produces. Come join us and find out for yourselves how good this experience is. Instead of making resolutions this New Year, make commitments for each goal you set for yourselves. Ask God for the guidance, strength and sense of purpose to do each commitment. You do the footwork - all that you can do. God will do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. You, who have not been here, come join us. Find out for yourselves –those with seeking minds are welcome here. May God bless you all!
Love in God’s service, Rev. Kay

POETRY CORNER
I Can Too
If somebody else can do a thing
With a lift of his chin and a debonair swing
And a laugh as he sees it through;
If someone else-just anyone-
Can keep his faith till the job is done
Then I can too!
If somebody finds the rainbow’s end,
Riches of trust in the heart of a friend,
A sky all faultless and blue;
If somebody else moves off the shelf,
And makes a lot of joy for himself,
Then I can too!
If somebody else can be stanch and brave-
A stout ship ready for weather or wave-
Keep a course that’s steady and true;
If somebody else can sense God’s grace
In even a passing stranger’s face,
Then I can too!
I do not envy anyone
The place he has carved for himself in the sun;
For what somebody else can do
With a positive nod
And a great faith in God,
Then I can too!
