MINISTER’S CORNER

Welcome to the month of June! The Center has been very quiet this last month. It seems everyone is enjoying the Summer, as God would have it. A special Happy Father’s Day to all of you who are Dad’s and those of you who fill the position of a Dad. We are glad that the Board selected the church picnic on July 10, 11, and 12th .By then everyone should be back from their travels over the 4th and will be able to participate. Ecclesiastes 3:1 states,  “For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.” I will be speaking this month. I am looking forward to bringing the message that God has for me to give. Thank you for all the support of the newsletter and our ministry. I envision you hole and well, blessed with an abundant life. As we work together, the Center gets better and better. I know that God is life. Divine power and presence are within you and me. With God, all good is possible. So - with your help the church will continue to grow.

Your servant, Rev. Ken Leppell

Happy Father’s Day!

June is here and what an exciting time it is! Summer will begin, school will be out shortly and Graduation Day is here for the High School seniors. I wish to congratulate all the seniors graduating this year. In the church, Andrew Phillips is graduating from Rogers High School in Puyallup. We are so very proud of him and thankful to God that his family has raised a wonderful, smart and talented young man. What an amazing adventure life is. Especially when we have the assurance that God will always be with us. Mother’s Day was wonderful with all the children in church with their families. Carnations were given to the congregation in honor of their mothers. Prayers are being said for Marion Curtis, our music director. She had surgery on her shoulder and will not be playing piano at services for a few weeks.  Life goes by quickly. I want to remember and pray for my family and friends. I also want them to know how much I love them. Telling them directly and showing them how much I care is the only way that I know that they heard me. I cannot take love for granted. I know that people hurt each other sometimes without even knowing it. If I have done that, I pray that whoever was hurt would tell me. Communication is vital. Have you told God how much you love Him? Do you take His love and even His existence for granted? Talk to Him in prayer. I love and appreciate every one in my life and so does God.

Love in God’s service, Rev. Kay

POETRY CORNER

CATTAILS

Now, I certainly know
That the cattails grow
Where it’s flat and low,
Where the water’s flow
Is quiet and slow
And there’s never any tide.

So you can surely see
How it occurred to me
That my gears slipped free
When my friend showed me
That they happened to be
Growing there on the steep hillside.

Now, it’s certainly true
That Mother Nature can do
At least a thing or two
That might surprise you,
And I’ve scarcely a clue
As to some of the tricks she can play.

But I’m now quite aware
There are things she will dare
That might cause one to stare
At a sight more than rare,
And she never will care
If she unhinges my mind by the way.

Sudden Sunlight

Did you ever walk through

    The deep, dark woods,

Where the sunbeams never shine,

     And the birdless gloom

     brings a sense of doom

That shudders along your spine?

Did your spirit sing and your heart beat fast

While you felt like a creature at bay

Till a sudden shaft of sunlight turned

The night of the woods to day?

Such is the secret of life, my friend.

It can seem to be darker than night

Till you open your heart and let Him in,

     Then suddenly it is Light!

Happy Father's Day!
