     MINISTERS CORNER

Revs. Ken and Kay Leppell

MINISTER’S CORNER

Each month I ask myself, “what should I talk about?”  How can I inspire someone to want to know his or her God better?  What do I have to offer?  I say a prayer that God give me the inspiration to touch someone’s life.  So I say something like this.  “I am free in mind, body and spirit.  I embrace freedom of spirit; I break through any self-imposed limitation and open the Center and myself to divine possibility.  Then things can happen in God’s world, not mine.  Last Sunday I went to the storage shed in back and I found a honeybee hive in the wall.  What a gift!  The bees are alive, friendly and well at our Center.  That week I came home and someone sent a check to cover our newsletter expenses.  The next Sunday someone needed help with their power bill and we had enough extra money to help them, thanks to a little extra someone put in our love offering.  We now have an abundance of volunteers to help with the spiritual breakfast.  I would like to put out a special blessing to all who cannot attend, but ask that you pray for our success and send in your love offerings.  It really makes a difference.  “You can’t out give God.”  By choosing to encourage each other, uplifting thoughts and positive habits, we give full expression to our spiritual freedom.

“For you were called to freedom, Brothers and Sisters.” Galatians 5:13

Know at the Center (Church) we are praying for you and your prosperity, health and happiness.  Love soothes the mind and heals the heart.  Thank all of you for allowing me to serve as your minister.

Rev. Kenneth J. Leppell

Happy August everyone!

What a great time we had at the 1st Annual Church Campout!  Many thanks to Lloyd, Gail & Chris Leppell for the use of their property.  The weather was wonderful and eagles were soaring above us.  There were seventeen of us.  Some took advantage of the fishing, some stayed in the campground and others took an expedition down the Rainey Creek.  The services on Sunday were great; and as we closed with prayer at the “Amen” part, Rachel said, “Look,” as the huge bald eagle circling above us.  The beauty of the Lord surrounded us all weekend.  The stars were magnificent in their splendor. The birthdays in August are numerous.  Happy birthday to the following:  Rev. Ken (14th), Gus DeBock (9th), Cora (5th), Ken Feller (17th), Vicki Kauth (23rd), Leslie Lanksbury (20th), Lloyd Leppell (18th), Gail Leppell (4th).  Happy Anniversary to Rev. Ken and Kay (3rd).  Have a blessed birthday everyone.  Remember that God is blessing you now.  We miss Marion Curtis our Music Director, who is healing from surgery.  Get well quicker, dear Marion.  We also want to thank Andrew Phillips for stepping up to fill in for Marion.  We have so many people volunteering to help.  My friend, Lois helps every month folding newsletters, taping, labeling and getting them ready to mail.  Her help is priceless.  I want to thank our kitchen and garden angels for their help.  Our Church family pitches in when I am incapable of doing the work.  Our constant theme is thanking God for the blessings He bestows upon us through these wonderful people.  Thank you for your prayers of healing for me.  May God bless you all for living the principles of Christianity and helping others.  I am looking forward to listening to Rev. Ken next month.  I also want to thank Rev. Ken for filling in for me in July.  Remember to always talk to God.  He wants to hear from us everyday.  God bless you all.  Love in God’s Service,

Rev. Kay Leppell

AUGUST BIBLE READING

Psalm 23

1 A Psalm of David. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

POETRY CORNER

A Lovely Day

On this, a very lovely day,

We come to thank thee, Lord;

It is a day of hope and joy,

So let it be adored---

On this, a very lovely day,

When all around is peace,

We look to thee, our blessed Lord,

To grant us thy release----

On this, a very lovely day,

We lift with care each heart,

And call on God for all his Love

And vow to do our part.

-Hope C. Oberhelman

My Name Is I AM

I was regretting the past,
and fearing the future.

Suddenly my Lord was speaking:
"My name is I Am".

He paused.
I waited.
He continued,

"When you live in the past,
with its mistakes and regrets,
it is hard. I am not there.
My name is not I WAS.

When you live in the future,
with its problems and fears,
it is hard. I am not there.
My name is not I WILL BE.

When you live in this moment
it is not hard. I am here.
My name is I AM."

Have a great summer!
