 MINISTER’S CORNER

A very, Merry Christmas to all! It is hard to believe that we are here already. How times flies when we have so many God days! A special thank you to God and all the helping angels He sent, to do the many tasks that were so well done. Know that the next year will be even better. When you have God at your back and an army of angels-how could it be otherwise? We had a finger-food Thanksgiving buffet on Nov. 22. We were able to share our best appetizers with each other. Everyone seemed to enjoy this new activity. I know that today that our lives are better. By aligning myself with all spiritual principles, I can now receive all my God-given blessings. By applying spiritual principles in my life, I am able to believe that a real transformation is possible. With God, all things are possible. I have a relationship with God that is beyond all understanding that fulfills me. I gratefully receive this gift today as God’s grace. Today is the “present”. Yesterday is the past and tomorrow hasn’t come. Thank you, God for your “present”, the Christ named Jesus. I can have a Merry Christmas every day, for with my wife in Morning Prayer, and meditation, we get to live in the “present”. We could not have had such a year without God in our lives and all the gifts you gave, material and above all your prayers for your church’s success. Thank you. Your servant, Rev. Ken Leppell

It is the time of God’s greatest gift to us, the birth of His Son, Jesus the Christ. I love this time of the year. My heart is filled with the blessings of wonderful memories of Christmas’s past. As I have matured, I realize that all my experiences have made me the person I am today. God has shown me that all of those times, that were not the “best”, have molded me into someone who can look past the hurt and bless the lesson. I have made many mistakes and God has opened my eyes to the fact that I can change my attitude about them and I have realized that using them as opportunities for spiritual growth means that I am not a mistake. Each one of us can move past these situations and bless our Lord for using us to help others. My wish is that none of us Christians forget to honor the real reason for this time of year, Jesus Christ the Son of God. Make this the best time of the year. It isn’t about presents and what we can get; it is about love and how we can give it away and never run out of enough love to share.  May your Christmas be one of love and peace on earth, starting at home.

We are collecting food for those less fortunate than us. If you wish to bring your donations to the church, do so on Sundays. Donations can be in the form of cash as well as food or gift cards. You may mail your monetary gift to us at the address at the top of the page. Just write a note on your check, designating the gift for the food baskets. Thank you again this year for your generosity. God bless all of you.

POETRY CORNER

Wonderous Night
Helen Parker

In the silence of that wondrous night
A star was shining extremely bright.
An angel appeared bringing tidings of joy
For soon would be born a baby boy.

So Shepherds and wise men followed the star
And others came from miles afar.
What child is this whom all await
His birth of which we celebrate?

He who was born in Bethlehem town
A King of Kings without a crown.
Who chose to be born in this humble way
In a stable so bare on Christmas day.
