MINISTER’S CORNER

Happy Easter to all of you! During this church season, how grateful we are to have you as part of Christ living and part of our church. Thanks to those who sent a love gift in support of our flower garden. It is beautiful this year- with lots of daffodils, pansies, primroses, dahlias, gladiola, and wild flowers. Last month we had another wedding. On Easter Sunday, services are at 11 am as always. This is the schedule of events: 9:30 to 10:30 am – spiritual breakfast, 11:00 am Easter Sunday service, which will include new member recognition, and communion, afterward there will be a Easter Egg hunt for the younger children. Last month, Rev. Kay did services on the “7-ups”. What a good job she did! Thanks, Rev. Kay. Know that as a creation of God, we are all worthy of good. Today, I have learned to live my life on life’s turns by accepting my good with gratitude. By doing this, I become considerate and compassionate towards others and myself. How simple these things come to us-especially at Easter. I have found that I can keep this joy in my heart all year long. Know that we learn from each other’s experiences. So write us or email us of your healings and experiences. We would be happy to put them in the newsletter. When I think about my attributes, when I look at myself in the mirror, I do so with the appreciation of you, and for the wisdom of God who guides me and the love of God which lives in you and I. Thanks again for your support and love offerings. Happy Easter!

Your servant,

Rev. Ken Leppell

May you all have a Blessed Easter! April 4th is Easter Sunday. We are also having Membership Welcome, and our Lord’s Supper and Spiritual Breakfast. Whew! Doing the Lord’s work keeps us busy: It also gets everyone moving and participating.  Rev. Ken Leppell is speaking in April. I am looking forward to hearing his lectures. To Rev. Marie White-Happy 90th birthday, April 23rd! We miss seeing Rev. Marie. She has moved to Auburn, WA next door to her daughter. To everyone who has a birthday in April-Happy Birthday! My daughter, Allison

Woodruff is celebrating her birthday on April 2nd.  The flowers are so beautiful already this year. The daffodils and tulips, our mock orange blossoms and azaleas are all in bloom. They seem to be putting on a show for Easter. Seeing God’s work in all its glory bring a sense that all is right with God’s world –we just have to get in step with the rest of His children. Let us worship the Lord and know that He has risen- He has risen indeed! Alleluia!! The enormity of the crucifixion and the sacrifice of the Christ are unfathomable, Give thanks for the love Christ has for us! We are having an Easter egg hunt for the youngsters. The older young people will hide the eggs. There will be music and a wonderful lesson from Rev. Ken. Thanks to everyone who volunteers their time for the church. The front flowerbed at the church is so pretty thanks to the garden angels and the kitchen angels who cook breakfast for us on the 1st Sunday of every month. Please keep praying for those on the prayer list.  It does take a praying congregation to keep your church vital!

Love in Christ,

Rev. Kay

POETRY CORNER

Two Wolves

One evening, an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people,

He said, “My son, the battle is between to wolves inside us all.

One is evil – it is anger, envy, inferiority, lies, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good – It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “ The one you feed.”
